Christopher Cortez

Mr. Cortez is a seasoned finance professional with over 15 years of leadership in corporate finance, treasury management, and investor relations across the energy sector.
Prior to joining HOG Resources, he held key roles at private energy companies, Fleur de Lis Energy and Covey Park Energy, where he advanced through positions of increasing responsibility in financial planning and analysis, cash management, and treasury operations, supporting multi-region portfolios.
From 2012 to 2018, Mr. Cortez served in strategic finance roles with Apache Corporation, including investor relations and corporate financial planning. As a primary liaison to equity and credit investors, he effectively communicated corporate strategy and articulated the company’s value proposition to the public markets.
Mr. Cortez began his career in 2009 at LINN Energy as a financial analyst, contributing to capital raising efforts and supporting acquisition and divestiture initiatives that advanced the company’s growth objectives.
He holds an M.B.A. from Rice University, a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Houston, and is a CFA Charterholder.
